The ranch encompasses about 53,000 acres on the island, which is roughly 1/3 of the entire island.  The ranch was a true cattle ranch with real cowboys doing the work.  Visit the ranch and see if you can imagine how life was before the ranch closed.

Idea #2:  Visit All the Wonderful Animals at the Panaewa Zoo. The 12-acre zoo located on the Big Island of Hawaii is the only truly tropical zoo in the United States. Of course, the zoo has a lot more than just mammals. Don’t forget to check out the beautiful monarch butterflies as well. The petting zoo is open every Saturday from 1:30PM to 2:30PM.

Certainly there are a lot of other attractions that you might want to see on an Hawaii vacation.  You might only be here for a brief length of time, but you can appreciate and capture much of the wonderful art, heritage, and fun that the state has to offer.  You certainly will never be bored – there is always a new adventure waiting for you.
