Golf has retained its position as one of the most popular participation sports in the UK with renewed interest thanks to golfing superstars such as Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia.

Spain

Many popular courses with British holidaymakers are located in Spain. Spain is a firm favourite with the British tourists and along with the warmer climate, it’s no surprise that this ranks high up on the golf holiday hotspots. Marrakech

Situated in North Africa, but still near to the Mediterranean climate that many desire, Marrakech is often thought of as the ideal golfing holiday destination. Morocco is described as having “perfect golfing conditions” with the lush tropical vegetation set to the backdrop of the formidable Atlas Mountains.  There are three main golf courses in Marrakech including the “Royal Golf De Marrakech”, the oldest course in the country which has played host to Winston Churchill and Ike Eisenhower over the years.

Scotland

Scotland is famous for its many world class courses, many of which will have been featured in recent years as hosts to the UK Open tournament.  The mountainous and coastal scenery can provide a pleasant backdrop to many challenging courses.  With sea winds threatening to carry your ball off course, Scottish golf courses can certainly offer a welcome challenge to even the most experienced golfer.  Scotland is well known for many golf courses, of which there are literally hundreds, some well known and other “hidden gems” to delight the golfing crowd.
