The Tanjung Bungah Beach is a popular holiday destination for many families. Located close to the Gurney area, it is easily accessed and convenient for those who are torn between spending time at the beach and going around the city of Georgetown, or getting down to Gurney Drive.

Tourists have said that the Paradise Sandy Bay is the best hotel to stay at, but the other hotels are equally sufficient for any holidaymaker. Even though the beach is not as popular as the Batu Ferringhi ones, it still provides all the popular beach activities as any other beach would, and has a nice bed of sand and sea for vacationers to enjoy the sun in. Other activities such as temple visits, cultural and historical places can be arranged with the hotels, or tour companies around Penang.

It is common for guests to walk across the road to satisfy their hunger, as there is a selection of seafood restaurants around the area, across the road from the strip of hotels. It would be recommended for the Tanjung Bungah guest to hire a taxi into town or Gurney Drive for a walkabout and eating fest. As for after-dinner treats, it is common to go to the Batu Ferringhi area to enjoy the bars, restaurants, and the night markets.

Another tourist addition is the Toy Museum. This museum showcases a variety of dolls that unfortunately, cannot be played with by children. Entry is RM10 for adults and RM6 for kids.
